First up, the Clawson Fourth of July Fest is in full effect. The fun includes a full midway with carnival rides, live entertainment, arts and crafts and much more. The fest begins Thursday July 3rd and concludes Friday July 4th with all-day activities starting with a parade at 9 a.m. and fireworks at 10 p.m.
- Northville 4th of July Parade
Visit Northville for their annual 4th of July parade. The theme for this year’s parade is “Hometown USA.” Hundreds of participants will march through downtown Northville while thousands more cheer. The route will be filled with bands, team mascots, floats, antique cars and more. Everything kicks off Friday morning at 10 a.m.
- Purebred Dog Show
Calling all dog lovers — The Ann Arbor Kennel Club will host its Festival of Purebred Dogs show. The annual event will feature more than 1,000 dogs and their owners, who will strut their stuff in the show ring. There will be 100 plus dog breeds showing off their special skills, like flying high and making a splash with dock diving. The events run Friday morning through Sunday at the Monroe County Fairgrounds.
- “Keeper of the Dream” Motown Mile
Last but certainly not least is the Motown Mile art installation at the Riverfront this weekend. This year’s walkable, outdoor art from the Motown Museum is titled “Keeper of the Dream” and celebrates Esther Gordy Edwards, the museum’s founder. The art will be on display through early fall.
