A burger chain that disappeared is making a strong return. 2 Hot ‘n Now locations are set to open in Michigan.

Thanks to Gun Lake Investments (GLI), it says they have acquired Hot ‘n Now and are planning to open the beloved fast-food brand’s new site near Wayland in West Michigan, followed by a fall launch of another location in Alpena.

GLI is forming a separate business called HNN Holdings LLC to run Hot ‘n Now, partnering with northern Michigan developer Jeff Konczak.

The Wayland restaurant will feature a 737-square-foot drive-thru building, recognizable by its classic metal roof, which is being constructed off-site in Alpena by B Cubed Manufacturing. The building utilizes a “plug and play” design, allowing it to be prefabricated and then quickly assembled on location.

Once open at 1146 129th Ave., the Wayland Hot ‘n Now will welcome customers from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 10:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. It will be located just behind Gun Lake Investments’ Noonday Market and directly across from Gun Lake Casino.

Customers will see the restaurant’s signature items on the menu, such as The Olive Burger and Cheesy Taters, along with “wallet-friendly” prices, the owners said in a news release.

GLI is an economic development corporation wholly owned by the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi, also known as the Gun Lake Tribe. GLI manages a private, non-gaming portfolio of investments in real estate and operating companies.

The company has launched a website, where consumers can stay updated on construction and receive notifications about future announcements.

GLI plans to open more locations in the coming years. We’ll have to wait and see if any come up around here.
