ALLEN PARK, Mich. – The driver of a pickup truck has died after crashing into a DTE generator in Allen Park, causing a power outage.
The crash occurred on Thursday (July 17) near Allen and Goddard roads.
Sky 4 showed the pickup truck with its front end completely destroyed.
DTE’s outage map indicates that approximately 1,000 customers are without power in the area following the crash.
DTE Energy was notified this afternoon that a car, after crossing two lanes of oncoming traffic, crashed into a barrier surrounding a staged DTE generator in Allen Park. Tragically, we have learned that the driver passed away and our thoughts are with his family and friends.Â
