DETROIT – The Major League Baseball All-Star game rosters have been set, as your Detroit Tigers could potentially have four starters to take the field during the first pitch.
On Sunday (July 7), left-hander Tarik Skubal was announced as one of the pitchers for the American League, where he will be joining starters and teammates Gleyber Torres, Riley Greene, and Javier Báez in Atlanta for the midsummer classic.
But the job is not finished, as fans still have a chance to get one more member of the Tigers to the best All-Star game in the world of sports with the fan vote.
The Tigers have the best record in baseball, and a small portion of that comes from the bat boys and girls, including Frankie Boyd, who has gotten the seal of approval from pitcher Tommy Kahnle.
“I call Frankie the G.O.A.T. He does everything,” said Kahnle.
Greene issued the same sentiments as he wants Boyd to join him in Atlanta.
“Frankie should be an All-Star because one, he has the fastest 40 time in the league. It’s guaranteed faster than anybody else’s, and two, I’d say he’s the most chill,” said Greene.
Four MLB Ball Boys and Girls are in the running, and now fans have the opportunity to send another Tigers athlete to the festivities.
Fans have unlimited voting each day, but voting ends on Tuesday (July 8) at 11:59 p.m.
